Re: Stormbringer knife
I think I've got what I would like on this blade.
The lands my family own in East Glacier MT is called Windridge Ranch. We used to have retreats for advanced stage cancer patients. So I was thinking "Windridge Brother"
The Sindarin I came up with was "Gwaepind Hanar"
Did I get it right?
I still need to figure out the scripting for it.
What do you guys think?

I love it! I'll double check today, but at first glance that looks good. You can a tengwar transciption here -
https://www.tecendil.com/
(two notes on this - one, be aware the extra lines on the initial characters in the "Telcontar" font are an aesthetic doubling like you might see in an old black letter document - they're not part of the characters proper. two, I'm not certain that "ae" is handled right, there might (might!) be a special character for the merged vowel there. I'd have to look. Again, sorry, it's been forever and a day)

Asking around, someone recommended this translation.
https://glaemscrafu.jrrvf.com/english/glaemscribe.html
And I like Glǽmscribe for translation into Tengwar.I'd say *hanar Gwaebind* "(a) brother of Wind-ridge."

Re: Stormbringer knife
I did find a special character (set of characters, really) for "ae" in the Gondorian mode, p17 of this document:
https://ia804508.us.archive.org/35/item ... xtbook.pdf
It's also shown on the site Cimrandir linked if you select "Sindarin Tengwar (General use)" mode - which is probably what you want.

Re: Stormbringer knife
Is it gwaepind or gwaebind? This is what I got for hanar gwaebind as Cimrandir suggested https://i.imgur.com/UEnqGkv.jpeg
And here's gwaepind

I can claim no expertise in Sindarin. I know only what the users on the Sindarin Discord offered. I’d imagine the p becomes a b through some sort of mutation or another. Honestly, there’s enough mis-spellings in real-world engravings, I can quite easily see some poor Bree smith not understanding the strange Elvish tongue and writing the wrong thing.

Hunh. Gwaebind does roll off the tongue easier, though I can't right off find something speaking to that particular case. I can check in my books if you don't get a solid answer for your Discord people, but I imagine anyone on a discord dedicated to Sindarin is going to be the better judge.
And aaaaahh - okay, now I see what's going on with the mark above the first letter. It's for the "Labialized Consonant" which is similar to but not identical with the line over a character than means "preceding N sound." Got it.
So yeah, the tengwar you're getting looks right. Just be sure to blow it up nice and big for your smith, 'cause some of those squiggles mean different things if they're not carved right.

That looks like it will be really cool, I can't wait to see it

Gimli: It's true you don't see many Dwarf-women. And in fact, they are so alike in voice and appearance, that they are often mistaken for Dwarf-men.
