Short Bocksten cloak

Post by Desert Loon »

I've been away from the forum for longer than I meant to be and I'm sorry about that.

I got a Bocksten cloak made of olive green wool serge from Grommets Leathercraft, and while I wait to build more kit to go with it, I've incorporated it into my everyday wardrobe. Last fall I attended a Bilbo Baggins Birthday Party and I meant to post pictures from it but kept putting it off. It was more of a costume event than reenactment, and my wool trousers are military surplus, but I figured I could have done worse.

The cloak has been a mainstay throughout the winter, on my bike. I've worn it on a couple of hour-long rides through rain, and though it's not long enough to keep my legs dry, it does keep my torso and shoulders dry - and warm, even while it gets wet.

A little bit at a time. Until I can get more passable pieces, I like this bit of kit.

That looks like a nice cloak, and awesome outfit :P

Excellent - well met, and thank you! (The bag that you sent it in, I use to carry provisions, chiefly cram.)

As always, I appreciate the encouragement. I wore it to work again today, in more rain.

And, to help me feel more ranger-ish, I was rewarded with the sight of some deer scat on the lawn of my office building:
